The last week of February 2015 saw the grand opening of ‘TheSnaQ ShaQ’, Queenswood’s very own Fair Trade tuck shop.

The SnaQ ShaQ, which was officially opened by Principal
Pauline Edgar to coincide with the beginning of Fair Trade Fortnight, offers a
supply of entirely Fair Trade produce, ranging from double chocolate chip
cookies to dried mangos. All profits will be donated to the Sixth Form charity,
which supports our link school in Malawi.

None of this would have been possible without the dedication
and creativity of Mrs Jacquie Brown (Lower Sixth Houseparent) who was the driving
force behind the school’s first Fair Trade enterprise.

The SnaQ ShaQ is open at lunch times, weekends and in the evenings,
and all girls and staff are welcome to visit and take part in this exciting new
project for a great cause.
