The Wooden Frock – Magic and Mayhem with the Drama Scholars
Tuesday 12 February 2019
Music, myth, magic and mayhem combined in the Drama Scholars and Principal’s Award Holders uproarious production of The Wooden Frock, staged over four performances in the Helen McCrory Studio Theatre in early February.
It’s a peculiar folk story that turns the Cinderella legend inside out. Mary is a princess whose mother, the Queen, suddenly dies. Prior to her death, she extracts a solemn promise from the King; whoever her wedding ring fits shall be his next wife...
The innovative traverse staging made this a truly immersive experience for the audience, who were encouraged (if not forced!) to participate in improvised scenes.
We would like to congratulate the hugely talented cast and Mr Booth, making his Queenswood directorial debut! Thank you also to Paul Toeman for his superbly vibrant photography.
