U16 East Indoor Hockey Championships
Tuesday 9 December 2014
Throughout the term our U16 and U18 Indoor Hockey squads have committed to Friday
night training sessions at Haileybury. They have worked hard to grasp
the skills of Indoor Hockey, which is very much a fast-moving, fast-thinking game. With little competitive
match experience, the players stepped up well to the East challenge.
On 29 November the U16 squad took part in the East Indoor
Championships in Colchester. They were representing Hertfordshire, having
previously beaten Aldenham in the county finals. It was a very tough
day’s Hockey and the girls improved throughout the tournament.
Despite not recording a win there were some very close matches and sound
performances. The girls’ progress was impressive: with each game they
developed their skills and tactical understanding. Queenswood’s most
valuable player was Catryn Langley (voted by
the players).
