U16 Indoor Hockey Team Qualify for National Finals
Thursday 10 December 2015
The U16 Indoor Hockey Squad played incredibly well at Essex University on 6 December against some tough opposition to be placed overall runners-up at the East of England Championships.
This earns them a well-deserved place at the National Finals in January. It will be our first ever U16 Indoor National final: a huge achievement.
It was an exciting day and at times very stressful. As in the previous weekend’s tournament Queenswood opened with a great goal from Milly Davies. Throughout the tournament there were also impressive goals from our England star Maddy Wray and captain Jess Hurley, while Catryn Langley stepped up from defence to take powerful penalty corners.
Chloe Munro was impressive in defence, working well with Catryn Langley and Lucy Wakeley to keep the ball out. After a tense final game against Bromley, despite a 2-2 draw we went through on goals scored, having only lost one game all day (1-0 to the eventual winners Framlingham College).
