US Elections – Queenswood Students Debate American Politics
Tuesday 8 November 2016
On Thursday 3 November, five days before the US presidential elections, Queenswood’s academic scholars debated some of the topics that have dominated the campaign.
Girls were assigned standpoints on a range of subjects, including the right to bear arms, free speech and immigration control, and had to propose or oppose motions.
The scholars found it challenging, but ultimately rewarding, to be forced to defend opinions that they did not necessary hold personally.
