Weekend Fun: Arsenal Women at the Emirates!
Friday 4 October 2024
We love football at Q and under the leadership of Mr Ward, the students' skills in lessons, and this term's lunchtime and after-school clubs, continue to go from strength to strength. Mr Ward shares an update on football at Q below.
If you're looking for some footie fun this weekend, why not head to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday and support Arsenal Women as they take on Everton Women in the next Barclays Womens Super League big match. Ticket prices start at just £8.65 and the Emirates is easily accessible, so let’s show our support for women’s sport and enjoy the electric atmosphere of a live game! Tickets can be purchased online here.
MR WARD, HEAD OF FOOTBALL AT QUEENSWOOD
Football continues to grow term by term at Queenswood. Currently we proudly host two full football clubs with over 70 students engaged, and even more eager to join.
Last year we had 74 students represent the school in a team and are hoping this will grow again this year. This year we have teams from u12 through to u18, with 3 age groups competing in National competitions, highlighting our growth. For the first time, our 1st XI will be one of these teams, marking quite a significant milestone in the programme. Three age groups will also be competing in the district league, and further friendly fixtures will be added for the Summer Term.
The enthusiasm and support for football within the Queenswood community is stronger than ever, and we look forward to continued growth and success.
