Wins for Queenswood at first Schools Aquathlon Championships
Wednesday 24 June 2015
A squad of Year 7 Queenswoodgirls took part for the first time in the Schools Aquathlon Championships at Caterham
School on Tuesday 23 June. The girls got to pick the distance
they wanted to enter: Intro 50m swim and 500m run, Sprint 100m swim and 1km run
or Olympic 200m swim and 2km run. The girls had a lot of fun practising their
transitions, working out the course and preparing for the race. After being
tentative about what they had quite let themselves in for, they had a lot of
fun and a very successful day, returning as champions in the Intro and Sprit
events.
- Hannah Kilpatrick won the Intro in an overall time of 3.49s.
- Chloe Berko-Boateng won the Sprint
in an overall time of 4.59. Ellie Gilmore came 4th, Mia Greig 9th, Eliza Blayne 10th
and Jemima Bisseker 17th. - Holly
Hodgskinson competed in the Olympic girls’ race finishing in 11th
position.
Well done to
all the girls who participated; we hope to compete again next year.
