YEAR 11 GEOGRAPHY STUDENTS
Our recent Geography field trip to Norwich and Sheringham proved to be a truly enriching experience. The trip offered a unique opportunity to explore the fascinating relationships between human activity and natural processes, particularly focusing on coastal erosion and urban regeneration.
Our teachers provided valuable insights into the geological processes at play in Sheringham. We discussed concepts such as wave erosion, transportation, and deposition, and how these processes contribute to the dynamic nature of the coastline. We did a field sketch and logged our opinions on the strength of the coastal management strategies. We continued working in the evening in the classroom to learn more about the economy of Norwich which really helped our learning.
In addition to studying coastal processes, we also explored the town's efforts in urban regeneration. We learned about local initiatives aimed at revitalising the area, including the development of new housing, improvements to public spaces, and the regeneration of brownfield sites.
Fun activities at the centre included rock climbing, Jacob’s ladder and nightline. All enjoyed the trip and it was beneficial to see what we learnt in the classroom in real life.
