Year 7 Egg Tower Challenge

Friday 21 June 2024

MRS IQRA KHAN, TEACHER OF MATHS

Enrichment Week for Year 7 kicked off with an egg-citing STEM activity known as the Egg Tower Challenge. Students scrambled to build the tallest tower capable of supporting an egg, using only limited materials. This activity wasn't just about shelling out ideas but also about cracking some real engineering problems. The young engineers had to think outside the carton and consider structural integrity, balance, and creativity, all while ensuring their egg didn't end up in a yolky mess on the floor.

The Egg Tower Challenge was more than just a hard-boiled test of building skills; it was a lesson in teamwork and innovative thinking. Students learned to egg-splore different designs and collaborate effectively, all while keeping their egg safe. Amidst the construction chaos, laughter and egg-cellent puns were shared, making the experience both educational and egg-joyable. By the end of the challenge, every participant felt egg-stremely proud of their efforts, whether their towers stood tall or cracked under pressure. Well done Year 7!
