Year 9 Enrichment: Upskilling for GCSEs, Dance Workshop and Cracking the Code at Bletchley
Friday 23 June 2023
It's been an absorbing week of enrichment activities for Year 9 and the students have relished the engaging sessions arranged for them. With opportunties to learn new skills in preparation for their GCSE courses commencing in September, dance and yoga workshops to encourage creativity and mindfulness and a trip to Bletchley Park to discover the incredible achievements of Britain's World War Two codebreakers, Year 9 have been busy!
On Monday they were taken on a virtual journey to India to receive an introduction to Hinduism and a taste of the colourful traditions and culture they enjoy, courtesy of our visitors from the Bhaktivedanta Hindu Temple in Watford.
On Tuesday, they joined Year 8 pupils for a stimulating author workshop with explorer Matt Dickinson, Miriam Halahmy and local performance poet, Professor Pango Mango. And on Wednesday, their recent explorations of Romeo and Juliet were brought to life by the visiting Globe Players.
Offsite, the students challenged themselves at HarroWall Climbing Centre, whilst pupils remaining at school designed their own unique tote bags.
