It was wonderful to hear the delightful news that former member of staff Liz Needham recently completed the Willow 10K race for a second time, raising over £300 for the Willow Foundation.

This inspirational charity was founded in 1999 by former Arsenal goalkeeper and TV Presenter Bob Wilson OBE and his wife Megs, as a lasting memorial to their daughter Anna, who died of cancer aged 31.

Whilst Anna battled cancer, she also experienced her self-named 'special days',  where quality time with friends and family became a welcomed distraction from the realities of living with a life-threatening illness. Willow aims to replicate Anna's 'special days' by providing uplifting experiences for other seriously ill young adults.

Like Liz, Bob is an old friend of the Queenswood community having run his goalkeeping courses onsite for several years and speaking with our Sixth Form about his work in sport and presenting.
