The concert is in aid of the Mandalay School for the Deaf Charity, which was originally founded by OQ Sandy Joliffe (Mrs Blakeway-Smith) in 1962 and supports the health and education of deaf children in Myanmar (formerly Burma).  A close bond is still held between the Queenswood community and the Mandalay Charity, with OQs Anne Dearle, Clare King and Tricia Wrinch (also current Q Governor) and former Q Principal Pauline Edgar being Trustees.
