OQ Jean Emerson (1924 – 2007) left Queenswood in 1943. Photographs
have been unearthed that show a young Queen’s body double posing for Her
Majesty’s first equestrian
portrait for the Coronation coin.
Jean
Emerson, then a 28 year old petty officer in the Women’s Royal Naval
Service, was used as a stand-in model for Queen Elizabeth II’s
Coronation coin.
