Travelling 'Down the Decades' we have now reached 1981. As Prince Charlies married Lady Diana Spencer, Brideshead Revisited hit our television screens and John McEnroe launched his tirade of ‘You cannot be serious!’, Queenswood said goodbye to Miss Ritchie after 10 years as Headmistress.

By 1981 the Queenswoodian publication was looking very different to how it had looked a decade earlier. Now published in a larger A4 format, the more traditional typeface had been replaced by a much less informal style, which was complimented by numerous photographs and charming illustrations. With an Art Editor now part of the editorial team, the magazine looked better than ever.
