Oxford University Admissions Talk
Wednesday 16 September 2015
Queenswood’s Sixth Form students and their parents were joined by a number of Academic Scholars from Years 10 and 11 for an extremely informative and enlightening talk from Kate Kettle of Balliol College, Oxford on Tuesday 15 September.
Ms Kettle detailed the admissions process, describing some of the common mistakes that Oxbridge applicants make and offering extremely valuable advice about the content of UCAS Personal Statements. She discussed the A-level subject combinations required for a range of undergraduate degree courses, and – for the younger members of the audience – stressed the increasing value of high GCSE grades.
Afterwards OQs Victoria Sautter and Isabella Hadjisavvas were on hand to speak about life at Cambridge University.
