One of Queenswood’s highly successful enterprise companies, formed by Sixth Formers in 2020, was awarded the runner-up prize at the final of the Tycoon in Schools competition last week.

You probably remember EMPYRE - we sold personalised jumpers and t-shirts last year. Following our performance in the competition we were invited to the national finals, held on Friday 24 September at Hampton Court Palace. 

The day was a celebration of how far we’d all come, and a chance to reflect on our development of entrepreneurial skills. Results were announced after a one-minute pitch to the judges and a question from each. 

We came second nationally in our category, scored a photo opportunity with Peter Jones and came away with a trophy to add to the cabinet. Best of luck to the Year 12s taking up the mantle this year – hopefully we can bag the top prize!
