Mandarin Chinese

Mandarin Chinese was introduced in 2024, and is available as an optional language in Years 7 and 8. From September 2025 it will be continued into Year 9.

Mandarin is also available as a GCSE and A-Level option. Currently the subject is offered for native speakers of the language; as the non-native speaking cohort of Mandarin students moves up through the school, it is anticipated that the subject will be offered to all at GCSE and, eventually, at A-Level as well.
